Coforge and IIT (BHU) Launch Data & AI Lab in Varanasi

Coforge Limited, a global IT solutions and services provider, inaugurated the Coforge Data & AI Lab at IIT (BHU), Varanasi to foster an inclusive, innovation-led ecosystem where academic rigor meets real-world enterprise experience.

The lab, located in the I-DAPT building on the IIT (BHU) campus, spans 980 sq. ft. and is equipped with 32 Apple desktops, Azure cloud access, video conferencing facilities, and curated learning modules via Percipio. Through this collaboration, students and researchers will gain hands-on access to a live enterprise-grade environment, enabling them to apply AI and data science to tackle large-scale societal challenges.

To start with, the lab will host four research projects focusing on AI-assisted vulnerability detection for enhanced cybersecurity; AI-powered assistive reading systems for the visually impaired; IoT and AI-based soil health monitoring for sustainable agriculture and cognitive research to improve mathematical abilities in schoolchildren through brainwave-based interventions.

“AI is a game-changing technology, and our goal is to empower students from diverse disciplines with hands-on experience in applying AI to solve real-world challenges,” said Sudhir Singh, CEO & Executive Director, Coforge.

“Artificial Intelligence is the driving force of the future and a boundless source of knowledge for generations to come.
