TRM Labs and Singapore’s Cyber Security Agency Join Forces to Advance National Blockchain Cyber Defense

TRM Labs has signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC) with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), marking a new initiative to fortify the nation’s cyber resilience through advanced AI-powered blockchain intelligence. This partnership positions TRM Labs’ technology and expertise at the forefront of Singapore’s cyber defense strategy, as digital asset activity increasingly intersects with sophisticated cybercrime and ransomware threats.

AI-Driven Blockchain Intelligence for Singapore

Under the agreement, CSA gains access to TRM’s blockchain intelligence platform, including its generative AI and advanced reasoning features. The collaboration will focus on co-developing solutions tailored for CSA’s operational needs, notably a blockchain tracing system powered by agentic AI. This system aims to track Singapore’s national exposure to ransomware campaigns more accurately while building stronger linkages between on-chain and off-chain activity to disrupt adversarial actors.

Addressing Rising Crypto Crime and Cyber Threats

Recent data underscores the urgency: illicit inflows to cryptocurrency addresses surged from USD 37.4 billion in 2021 to USD 44.7 billion in 2024, according to TRM Labs’ 2025 Crypto Crime Report. Meanwhile, CSA’s Singapore Cyber Landscape 2024/2025 calls out the mounting challenge of monitoring illicit activity in decentralized networks, a priority for both incident response and long-term cyber resilience.

Strategic Impact and Industry Leadership

“Partnering with CSA is a pivotal step in bringing cutting-edge AI to the front lines of cyber defense,” said Esteban Castaño, Co-founder and CEO of TRM Labs. He highlighted TRM’s commitment to a safer digital ecosystem through innovations like the Beacon Network, a real-time public-private intelligence sharing initiative. According to Edward Chen, CSA’s Deputy Chief Executive (National Cyber Resilience), strengthening AI capabilities and agentic threat analysis will accelerate threat detection and response for Singapore’s critical digital infrastructure.

Broader Collaboration and Future Development

The partnership will leverage global expertise from TRM Labs and operational insight from CSA to co-develop scalable, data-driven tools for threat hunting, investigations, and risk response. These efforts support Singapore’s digital trust and innovation agenda, reinforcing the city-state as a leader in cybersecurity for blockchain and emerging digital assets.

This announcement sets a benchmark for national cyber defense collaboration, integrating next-generation AI intelligence into public sector security operations and responding to emerging threats in the blockchain space.
